Scene Challenge of the Week

Yes, yes, it is Wednesday again, and no… I haven’t caught up with work yet. One of these days I’m going to get back on top of things. Hopefully one of these days this month. I’m thinking the 18th personally. I think that would make a good ‘get back on top of the blog’ day. Anyway, until the 18th it’s going to be chaos as usual around here. So, I’m sure that you want a scene challenge, and I’ve got one for you! Yesterday was election day after all. Before that though, the rules:  I provide you with the beginning of a scene (from a phrase to two sentences) and you finish it.  Try to keep your scene under five hundred words, and try to keep it in the same tone as the introduction.  If I give a line that is very dark and depressing, then I don’t want to see a scene about a drunken monkey in a tutu…it just doesn’t fit.  If I do give you a line about a drunken monkey in a tutu, then you should probably try for a funny scene.

Your scene: “Kelsey’s hands shook as she handed over her ID…”

I’m sure that a lot of people had an experience with being ID’d yesterday… I actually had to do it twice (my new address hasn’t been updated yet and so they didn’t have me in the system at my new poling location). So, I’m hoping that somebody will run with this and make it a Vampire for President kind of thing, because that would be awesome. One of you could do a farsical Edward vs. Jacob style election story… maybe where they both die… can you tell I don’t like Twilight?
