imagesWell, welcome to the week before Christmas. Time flies sometimes, doesn’t it. I really thought I had another two weeks before the big day. There’s something about holidays that makes them sneak up on me. It’s like being ambushed by decorations. … … …If you can’t tell, I’m still a little bit sick. So, anyway, I hope that you’re all ready for a fun challenge this week. Let’s get to it!

You’ve done this kind of story challenge before, but it is fairly complicated. I’m going to give you a series of criteria including genre, theme, some character archtypes, etc. Your job is to write a story that includes all of the features required in the challenge. If you intend to post it here, please keep it short. However, the complexity of this challenge often requires a longer story.

Theme: Holidays Gone Weird

Genre: Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, Science Fiction

Setting: The North Pole

Character Archetypes:

1) Elves  (the kind that live in forests and shoot bows, not the kind that make toys)

2) A five year old boy who can destroy the world (you figure out how… I recommend watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

3) A Demon Lord

4) A Toymaker

Items:

1) A Phylactery (these were amulets that contained magical charms in the middle ages… alternatively it is whatever contains the soul of a lich)

2) A magical sleigh

3) A hammer
